ORDER OF MERIT AWARDS 2008

The 2008 Order of Merit, which will be updated regularly, will have points available at every event.
Points will be awarded to the top 50. Follow your progress at www.theplayerstour.co.uk .
All full members will be eligible for the order of merit with the winner already guaranteed a first prize worth a minimum £1,000. The runner up prize will be worth a minimum of £500. The next three places will have their entry fee paid for the 2009 Open Championship.
We are actively seeking a sponsor(s) for both the Order of Merit and hopefully a Senior Order of Merit and hope to announce further awards as the season progresses.

Barry Taylor took top honours and the first prize of £1,000 with Steve Parry close behind receiving £500. The three Open fees were won by Dave Smith, Grant Hamerton and Gary Donnison.

WEST COAST SWING 2008

We are delighted to confirm that to launch the Tour Galvin Green through JMA Gallagher Golf Agencies are sponsoring a mini order of merit the West Coast Swing .
Three of our first four events take place on some of the prestigious links courses of the Lancashire coast. Each has featured in regional and/or final Open qualifying. The fourth event is 36 hole at the Vale of Llangollen. The early leader of the Tour order of merit after these events will receive a 2008 Galvin Green Tour waterproof suit.
In addition the player with the lowest aggregate total will receive their entry fee paid for the 2008 Open.

STEVE PARRY won the Galvin Green Award for 2008.

After a tie on 9 under par for the four events the Tour awarded BOTH STEVE and BARRY TAYLOR their entry fees for the 2008 Open Championship.

AMATEUR ORDER OF MERIT 2008

We are delighted to confirm that Galvin Green through JMA Gallagher Golf Agencies will be sponsoring our amateur order of merit for 2008. The winner of this will receive a Galvin Green clothing contract to the value of £400.
The 2008 Order of Merit, which will be updated regularly, will have points available at every event.
