What The Pro's Are Saying
"The Players Tour provides a great opportunity to play competitive golf against proven players from both the professional and amateur ranks at first class courses.
With knowledgeable and professional behind the scenes organisation the Tour is already providing strong fields and an excellent spread of the prize purse.
Good luck for the future with what should, on the basis of the first few events, become a strong development tour."
Dave Smith, MEN Open Winner 2007
"The Players Tour is a fabulous concept, the standard of golf is high and the ‘behind the scenes’ even higher.
It’s crucial for the development of the tour to be run smoothly, efficiently and at good venues. With those ideals already at the forefront Jon & Richard will create a great opportunity for us all! Good luck"
Andrew Murray former European Open Champion
"The Players Tour is a superbly organised developmental tour I would recommend to golfers who are looking for fierce competition on quality courses.
Both Jon and Richard know what players are looking for in tournaments and go out of their way to accommodate. From yardage planners to physios and most things in between every thing is done in a friendly and first class manner."
Paul Eales former winner on the European Tour

The Players Tour was formed in 2008. It is run with you the player in mind with the objective of combining fantastic venues, great prize funds, and first class administration while preserving as much as is realistically possible for the prize fund.
Our first season saw strong fields with all of the scheduled 15 events taking place along with an added fourball event.
The Tour is proud to state that in BOTH our first two seasons we returned over 80% of entry receipts back in prize funds and additionally paid £2,000 in order of merit awards. Prize money was paid to the top 25% of every event with last place money always at more than the entry fee.
In 2009 we expanded to 20 sechduled events with more 36 hole events and again saw strong fields throuhout the season. We also received the support of Andrew 'Chubby' Chandlers International Sports Management who paid the Tour Scool Fee for the Order of Merit winner and were able to pay further awards, totalling £2,000, down to tenth.
In 2010 our expansion will continue with 23 events in total including 5 events in Yorkshire, 4 in North Wales, and events in both the north midlands and further north, Lancaster and The Roxburghe in Scotland, extending the area covered by the Tour even further.
Within the 23 will be three 54 hole tournaments including our first Tour Championship and eight 36 hole events combined. As previously there will be a focus in the early season on the 36 hole events when players have fewer commitments and need to sharpen their games ready for the summer season.
In addition with more new venues the Tour can proudly boast a schedule of quality courses the equal of any on offer to professionals in Britain.
New for 2010 we intend to vary the entry event to allow us to attract the best possible fields and allow us to use the additional prize money available to enhance the First and Second place cheques.
We're sure that these developments with more extended events covering a greater area of the region will see the Tour enjoy it's best season yet to the benef
fit of the Tour, our host venus, our Sponsors and competitiors alike.
Mission statement
The principle aim of the Tour is to promote professional golf in the region by providing players with affordable tournament style events in which to gain experience without the expense of travelling far and wide.
-
It is our aim to provide quality events at premier venues with a number of events already scheduled at Final Qualifying venues for the Open Championship.
-
The main focus is on the pros playing for prize funds that reflect the entry fees received and that are spread well down every tournament field. The Tour is proud that in it's first two seasons we returned a substantial amount of the entry fees received in prize funds and order of merit awards.
-
Membership of the tour will be at very competitive rates whilst reflecting the costs of hosting tournaments nowadays. This will see the 2010 fee only 16% more than 2008 yet with twice as many tournament days on offer.
-
Amateurs, who are not allowed to become full members of the tour, are encouraged to enter as the Tour seeks to encourage all players who are considering entering into careers in the game.
-
The Tour will continue to cater for players who are considering revisiting their playing careers with an eye on the now well estsblished Seniors Tour. All events will have a seperate prize fund for the 45 and over players in addition to the regular purse.
To help us in ensuring that all our events are as succesful as possible for all involved this we would welcome any feedback from players, sponsors, host clubs and followers of the Tour. Just email us at
admin@theplayerstour.co.uk with your comments or suggestions.
Have a great season
Jon and Richard
